Shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon, first responders were called to the area of Gaither Road and Railroad Avenue in Sykesville, where there was an injured hiker who fell approximately 20 feet down an embankment while walking in a wooded area.

A crew based out of Martin State in Middle River responded to the scene and hovered approximately 120 feet above the hiker, who was hoisted to the helicopter, treated, and taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of injuries sustained in the fall.
